**This Opportunity**

We are currently looking to fill **one Full Time Barrier Free Design Counsellor, Accessibility Services in London, Ontario.**

**Roles and responsibilities**

The Barrier Free Design Counsellor (BFDC) is part of the larger Accessibility Services team. They are responsible for ensuring all documents and eligibility criteria are validated in order to issue funding with the ultimate goal of creating an accessible, barrier-free living space where people with disabilities can completebasic activities of daily living or get in and out of their homes safely, independently and with dignity. The BFDC will follow the request through to completion and ensure payment is issued to the selected vendor orcontractor.
- Help clients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and all stakeholders navigate service and provide referrals as appropriate
- Maintain a caseload that is compliant with departmental policies and procedures
- Complete follow up for required documentation, as needed
- Send out correspondence regarding file outcomes and decisions
- Operationalize MODC strategic goals and objectives
- Collaboratively work with internal and external stakeholders in administering funding of modifications, adaptations and devices
- Ensuring monthly service and spending targets are met
- Maintains current knowledge of accessibility industry including barrier-free modifications, adaptations and devices
- Submit invoices for payment using MODC database
- Follow up with stakeholders regarding quality of service and issue satisfaction survey

**Qualifications and experience**
- Grant Administration: Experience with managing a caseload, working within set deadlines and ensuring monthly service and spending targets are met.
