The Volunteer Coordinator has a key role with a Local Mission Thrift Store. He/she must have strong relational qualities, and lead a wide range of volunteers to effectively operate a Mission Thrift Store. The Volunteer Coordinator is required to seek and recruit qualified volunteers in preparation for the Store opening and/or for ongoing Store Operations.

The Volunteer Coordinator will provide assistance in community relations (with the Community Liaison).

Recruit a volunteer base for the Mission Thrift Store (approximately 100 active Volunteers)

Establish and maintain a volunteer succession program to continually strengthen the volunteer base, with the assistance of BFM Foundation Thrift Store Development Ltd.

Assist to provide an efficient and safe working environment for the volunteers

Be a promoter of the Mission Thrift Store and the Joint Ministry of BFM Foundation (Canada) and Bible League Canada

and personal appreciation for their commitment and availability

Provide guidance to Store Manager (once hired) with an effective plan of scheduling volunteers to ensure each work day is covered, effectively utilizing all volunteers

èAssist Store Manager with a program of orienting and training for volunteers and help create a positive, cooperative, rewarding work experience for them

Attend Volunteer Appreciation Events

Secondary Activities:
Summarize recruitment activities at each Board meeting, either in person or in a written report

Compile list of volunteer names, contact information, and availability date

Keep ongoing records, and items to be brought forward.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

Work Location: In person
