**Description**:
As the Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll work with the Manager, Volunteer Resources, Central Zone, to develop, execute, coordinate and evaluate standardized work methods, protocols, policies and procedures related to best practices of volunteer management. In this role, you will provide direction to healthcare professionals on how to match volunteer motivation with their program needs work with all areas within the health care system to develop meaningful volunteer programs that support AHS vision, mission and goals. In collaboration with clinical educators, you will assist in providing department-specific training opportunities for volunteers, adhering to best practices and implements processes and procedures as per the department. Working with the staff team, you will ensure the determined outcomes for the volunteer program are met and support a patient-and family-centred model as you develop volunteer programs, ensuring client needs, concerns and issues are seamlessly addressed in a timely and professional manner. As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will maintain an up-to-date database and prepare monthly reports. You will keep abreast of emerging trends and new methodologies in Volunteer/Human Resources management and perform ongoing evaluation of volunteer programs. Your appreciative nature will shine through as you provide both formal and informal recognition to volunteers for their individual contributions. Participating in various site and department meetings and committees, you will ensure efficient and effective Volunteer Resources operations. This will include both facility and community meetings to develop working relationships with staff liaisons who are supporting and supervising the volunteers, and to increase department awareness, where you’ll provide presentations to inform, educate, and recruit.

**Required Qualifications**:
A minimum post-secondary diploma in Volunteer Resources/Human Resources Management, Business Administration or Management in Human and Social Services. Supervisory experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of experience, volunteer management, education and training may be considered (e.g., Volunteer Administration Certification). This position requires a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel is required.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Personal volunteer experience is essential. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.
