Red Rock Ophthalmology is looking for a full-time medical office assistant to join our team as surgical booking coordinator. We are seeking an energetic, positive, and reliable team player to assist in patient care. The successful applicant will have exceptional communication and multi-tasking skills and be passionate about providing the best in patient experience.

**Responsibilities**:

- Place high priority on quality patient experience
- Professional presentation & conduct with respect for confidentiality
- Warmly greet patients in person and over the phone
- Check patients in and out of clinic in a timely and efficient manner
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments with EMR system according to guidelines
- Accurately update and maintain patient electronic medical records
- Review office policies and intake forms with patients
- Communicate courteously with other medical offices, hospitals and surgery facilities
- Assist with ophthalmologist and technicians’ requests to ensure smooth clinic flow
- Maintain organized work environment
- Create invoices and receive payments
- Use of VoIP system, copiers, fax machines and document scanners
- Complete all duties related to scheduling surgery at all sites (ACH, RGH, AHS CSFs)
- Create surgical booking requests, arrange pre-operative testing, obtain patient consent, schedule surgical day, liase with surgical facility coordinators, arrange post-operative visits, submit complete surgical booking packages
- Manage AHS surgical waitlist data
- Other duties as assigned

- Excellent written and verbal skills

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma
- Minimum 1 year medical reception experience required; MOA certification an asset
- Preference to prior ophthalmic or optometric office experience
- Computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records
- Working knowledge of Office 365 (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)

Pay rate commensurate with experience.

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week
