Vice President, Personal Trust Services (“VP PTS”) Position

The Role

FTCC is recruiting for a client focused Vice-President, Personal Trust Services to join our team. The VP PTS is a hybrid sales and service role, responsible for growing and servicing Fiduciary Trust assets under administration by providing professional Estate Planning, Executor and Trustee services to high-net-worth clients. The role will develop relationships with lawyers, accountants, and investment advisors who can refer clients to Fiduciary Trust and will also be the main relationship manager for new and existing estate and trust accounts.

Key aspects of the role will also include:

- Wealth Preservation: Develop strategies to maximize wealth preservation and minimize tax implications for clients' estates. Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize financial outcomes.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments for estates under management, identifying potential issues and implementing appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Continuous Professional Development: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and advancements in estate planning and administration. Attend relevant workshops, seminars, and training programs to enhance expertise and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the President & CEO, the VP PTS will be responsible for:
Estate Planning Services (40%)
- Collaborate with clients and their legal representatives to develop tailored estate plans that align with their financial goals and objectives. This includes analyzing assets, preparing wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Work with Advisors & FTI Sales Team in preparing detailed Will and Trust plans given specific client circumstances.
- Work with Lawyers to prepare Wills, Powers of Attorney & Health Care Directives for clients.

Estate & Trust Administration (40%)
- Oversee the administration of trusts and estates, ensuring efficient execution of fiduciary duties. This includes managing assets, coordinating with beneficiaries and stakeholders, and handling any legal or financial complexities that may arise during the administration process.
- Estate Services: Upon death of a client who has appointed Fiduciary Trust in their will, perform all executor duties necessary to settle the estate.
- Trust Services: When Fiduciary Trust is named as trustee of a living or testamentary trust, perform all trustee duties necessary to administer the trust.
- Work closely with Investment Advisors to assist them in retaining assets under their management through the transfer of wealth from one generation to the next.
- Work with external lawyers and accountants as necessary to ensure professional services are efficiently provided to estate and trust accounts.
