Scheduler

**About the Role: This is a Full-time, Salaried position.**

**About The Scheduler**

**What will you do in the role**

Scheduling
- Collaborate with the Purchasing team to schedule shop floor.
- Prepare/monitor daily and weekly production schedules and adjust as needed.
- Determine equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
- Highlight issues when they arise and provide input to production to minimize disruption.
- Work in conjunction with estimating, sales & customer service, project managers, production personnel, quality assurance and inventory control.
- Monitor production progress along with Production Supervisor.
- Review demand and supply to understand bottlenecks and propose solutions to meet demand.
- Constantly look for improvements and help implement solutions.
- Attend daily production meetings to provide updates and make recommendations when needed.
- Participate in annual inventory counts.

Shipping
- Complete shipping documents including custom invoices and Bill of Lading accurately, comprehensively, and on-time.
- Accurately ship products as per instructions.
- Track, trace and update the status of shipment.
- Inspect material and parcels prior to shipment
- Source out trucking companies for outbound shipments, negotiate price.
- Effectively inspect received materials for damage and/or contamination.
- Compare the BOLs and packing slips to received items and purchase orders.
- Accurately place or stage materials in designated areas.
- Problem solving skills, attention to detail and able to work with little supervision.
- Demonstrates courteously and professionalism when interacting with internal and external customers.
- Carry out prescribed preventative maintenance activities in accordance with schedules and checklists.

Others
- Other duties as required.
- Able to lift up to 15lbs; may work in hot areas 5%, noise 0%.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety as well as active participation in 5S activities in work area.

**What will you bring to the role**
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- At least 2 years of ERP and MRP systems experience
- APICS certification an asset
- Proven communication skills; ability to communicate to various levels of management
- Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
- Previous responsibility for high‐level supplier interaction
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Intermediate knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
- A clear background check for criminal and/or credit is required

**This position works out of our Ottawa, Ontario location. Hours are typically 6:00am to 2:30pm with flexibility.**
