**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Financial Assistant to join our team. The Financial Assistant will be responsible for supporting our financial operations, including managing accounts payable/receivable, reconciling financial statements, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. This role will require fluency in both English and Mandarin, as well as a strong background in financial/accounting principles.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits, tax filings, and financial reviews.
- Prepare financial analyses, including forecasts, budgets, variance analysis, and cost summaries for management reporting.
- Review monthly results with budget owners, providing concise summaries.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance data collection and analysis processes.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments, including preparation of invoices with different pricing files and invoicing terms.
- Reconcile financial statements and bank accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Conduct financial analysis and variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement, and assist in creating quarterly and annual audits.
- Assist in preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Maintain financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

**Requirements**:

- 1-2 years of working experience in financial or accounting roles, preferably in the education sector.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin is a must, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Bring experience in finance and accounting with a view to constantly improve processes and outcomes.
- Possesses a Finance or Accounting background and wants to grow in this area.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Drive to take on new challenges with the self-motivation to continue to develop and grow self and others.
- Ability to take and receive feedback with a growth mindset to learn and improve.
- Desire to grow alongside the company and have fun along the way
- Legal authorization to work in Canada, with a valid Permanent Residency (PR), or Canadian Citizenship identification.

**Salary**:

- The salary for this position is $30-35 per hour, part-time.
