This position is responsible for directing the overall financial operations and policies of the company. This position oversees all financial functions including accounting, cash management, budgeting, credit, insurance, tax, financing arrangements, legal, partner AGM meetings, and administrative functions.

**REPORTING RELATIONSHIP**

Reports to the** Chief Financial Officer (CFO)**

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
1. Direct and coordinate LOB (Line of Business) financial planning and budget management functions

2. Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance

3. Manage and optimize Kin’s cash flow management and treasury processes

4. Utilize hedge strategies on foreign exchange contracts

5. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget; implementing cost management measures and report company financial performance to the President and Management on a monthly basis.

6. Oversee the operation of Finance/Accounting and Administration.

7. Manage the preparation of all financial reports

8. Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts; protect and optimize the company’s assets (through adequate insurance, controlling mechanisms, etc.)

9. Assist and coordinate the necessary financing arrangements for franchisees.

10. With management oversee the payroll, compensation and incentive programs for the company.

11. Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions

12. Ensure compliance with local, provincial and federal taxation and compliance reporting requirements and overall tax planning

13. Work with department managers to develop five year business plans

14. Assist in establishing short
- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures

15. Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives.

16. Serve on planning and policy-making committees

17. Serve as primary government liaison relative to financial issues

18. Coordinate financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements

19. Represent the company externally to government agencies, auditors, financial institutions and the general public

20. Maintain strong and productive relationships with lenders, customers, vendors, franchisees, and employees.

21. Completes directives from the President satisfactorily and within the specified time frame.

**QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION**

**Technical**

1. A CPA (CA) designation

2. MBA in Finance is considered an asset

3. Strong technical finance capabilities - financial planning, forecasting and analysis, budgeting, fair value accounting, financial reporting and control, treasury and tax.

4. Understanding and interest in investing - fixed income/equities/alternative

5. Experience leading and driving operational finance in an organization of comparable structure, complexity and scale

6. Proven ability to deliver improved performance and support stakeholders in their decision making

7. Ability to work closely with the executive team to leverage technology and automate processes

**PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION
1. Annual financial Reports completed 90 days after fiscal Year End.

2. All required operational and financial reports are accurate and fully completed on time.

3. All internal Financial Reports are accurate and completed within 10 business days of month-end.

4. Operates the Finance Department in a cost effective manner.

5. Consistently displays the ability to recognize and deal with priorities.
