Bitmoji is the digital you — a living cartoon character to instantly express who you are and how you're feeling, in the moment. We believe that the magic of cartoons can improve everyone’s online lives and empower people to communicate in ways that words alone can’t capture.

We’re looking for a creative leader to support our Avatar Teams, expand our art library, and execute the Bitmoji roadmap. As Manager of the Bitmoji Avatar Teams, you will lead and inspire our talented artists, collaborate with the Product, Engineering and Production Management teams to craft strategies to realize the Bitmoji mission, all the while continuing to maintain and elevate the quality of our content, ensuring that our content continues to make people smile millions of times every day.

**What you’ll do**:

- Build and lead a team of exceptional Team Leads and Artists
- Conduct regular 1-1s with direct reports to provide continuous mentorship, feedback, and support
- Oversee the training of new employees and ensure training and style guides are complete and up to date
- Elevate your team’s capabilities and morale
- Cultivate a dynamic and creative environment of high performance
- Understand the content requirements of new projects and products, and work with Production and Team Leads to allocate team resources for optimized efficiency, individual growth, and output quality
- Advance the overall look, feel, and aesthetics of the Bitmoji avatar
- Assess process and team deficiencies and work with Team Leads to resolve them
- Become expert in the processes involved in product delivery and lead the team with creative choices, ensuring the continuous improvement of our avatar products
- Collaborate with Production, Content Strategy, Engineering, and Product teams to align on annual and quarterly strategy and goals
- Own the execution of the roadmap as it relates to the Bitmoji avatar art teams
- Align and partner with Production, Engineering, and Product teams to optimize existing pipelines and develop new ones

**Minimum qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in illustration, graphic design, gaming, animation, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in a character art, illustration, gaming, or animation-focused role
- 5+ years of experience in supervising artists in a variety of projects and disciplines
- Exceptional portfolio featuring 2D and 3D design, demonstrating expertise in illustrative and character design, with strong style adaptability

**Preferred qualifications**:

- Expertise in representing the human form in 2D and 3D, in a variety of styles
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Maya (or other 3D software), and G-suite
- Ability to quickly learn new programs and processes
- Experience working in fast paced cross functional environment, overseeing multiple projects concurrently
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring a team and delegating tasks
- Proven ability to collaborate with multiple teams from different disciplines to achieve a common goal
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Exceptional skills in various design disciplines, with an unwavering commitment to the highest quality of design and an eye for detail
- Technically agile, with excellent problem solving skills
- A passion for Bitmoji, Snapchat, and creativity
