The Opportunity

We currently have a casual opportunity for a remote Technical Document Writer to join the Vancouver Regional Office in Vancouver, BC. This is a remote opportunity to work approximately 20 hours per week.
- Creation of technical documentation across the mine site and regional office
- Gather information, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
- Research, create, and maintain information templates that uphold organizational and legal standards and allow for easy data migration
- Support Document Control in aligning with business priorities and expectations through clearly defining what is expected, ensuring understanding of expectations, and verifying that expectations are delivered on
- Provide a high level of quality assurance and technical review on all document management system matters
- Liaise with document originators and/or designers to ensure accuracy and to resolve discrepancies relating to the Document Management System
- Ensure the various teams have access to the correct documentation and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance
- Support the enterprise-wide document management systems and related procedures that allow the organization to capture, store, retrieve and share documentation
- Create and/or revise procedures, plans, standards, safe work instructions, forms, technical datasheets, and other types of documentation as required
- Openly support Company policy regardless of personal views

- Support the Newcrest Document Control Process
- Support project-related document control register
- Navigate document control systems to ensure availability of documentation to Newcrest site personnel and other project stakeholders

About You

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

- Minimum three years experience in an administrative support role, with a global company
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in SharePoint and MS Office suite of products
- Strong analytical skills
- Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize based on business demands
- Detail-oriented to identify discrepancies and errors in formatting and content of documentation as well as any inconsistencies in metadata and records

- Communicates and collaborates effectively with teams and site personnel at all levels of the organization
- Shares information, knowledge, and ideas with others in the team
- Frequently asks questions with the intent to understand or improve themselves or their work
- Self-motivated and takes initiative by proactively looking for ways to add value to the team
- Highly proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Professional
- Technically competent with electronic document management systems (SharePoint, Aconex, OpenText)
- Proficient in SAP
- Ability to learn and implement new systems and enhancements as required
- Strong attention to detail with a critical eye
- Excellent coordination and organizational skills are essential
- Familiarity with technical documentation including project plans, technical specifications, engineering drawings, design reports, quality records, software, external standards, contracts, procedures, work instructions, safety related documentation and construction records is desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills, and the ability to collaborate within an international project team environment
- Familiarity with legislation and industry practices as it relates to Health and Safety in mining
