- The Data Analyst Support Role is accountable for the preparation & maintenance of all Plan Sponsor Tasks & Data. Is responsible for the completion and tracking of Commission & Association Allowances payments. The individual will be involved in all aspects of the financial reporting process, from start to end. Outside of the regular required production tasks, the individual must be willing to participate in various projects as required. Other tasks could include assisting the financial underwriting team and special projects, as time permits.What you will do
- Maintain Plan Sponsor List and ensure all Tasks pertinent to Plan Sponsors are captured on SmartSheets with correct deliverables & time lines to be tracked.
- Maintain and Update Reporting Requirements and Reporting Inventories for All Systems.
- Work with other business units to acquire the relevant data within tight timelines.
- Maintain and update Commission and Allowance File with all the pertinent information.
- Calculate and Create the Commission & Allowance Payments and Statements.
- Track the Commission and Allowance Payments for T4 Products for the Finance Team.
- Responsible for in gathering pertinent data and reports, and compiling summaries for the preparation of financial statements, renewals, and trend reports.
- Prepare Renewals (Analysis and Report) for the assigned Cases and work with Underwriter for peer review and sign off.
- Prepare, maintain, and update Financial Agreements and assist in analysis of Reinsurance Reports and Treaties.
- Gather Competitive Intel on Rates and Product offering using LifeGuide, Quote Tools for different Insurance Providers and RBC and Canada Life Quote Tools.
- Assist with the internal Pooling Reporting on all Lines of Business.
- Work on Special Projects as required.
What you will bring
- A University degree or College diploma in a relevant field
- Knowledge of basic accounting and/or financial reporting of group policies is an asset.
- Excellent analytical and business writing skills - spotting trends supported by data/analysis and clearly explaining the issues and variances to clients.
- Must be dependable and reliable, possess strong organizational skills, ability to manage workflow, meet deadlines and work with all team members to meet the teams’ deliverables.
- General knowledge of Group or individual or association Insurance business, an asset.
- Detail oriented and willingness to learn new things.
- Possess good working knowledge of Excel (associated functions such as pivot tables, macros, graphs) and Word.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access is an asset.
- Bilingual, English, and French, is an asset but not mandatory.
