**About Marine Thinking**

Marine Thinking is seeking an individual looking to join an agile, dynamic, and motivated team in the ocean artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic technology industry. Our technology aims to help protect the environment by supporting the sustainable development of the marine industry.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct hydrographic surveys using specialized equipment such as single-beam or multi-beam echo sounders, side-scan sonars, and other underwater sensors to collect depth and underwater terrain data.
- Operate and maintain surveying instruments and equipment used for underwater mapping and navigation, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Utilize GPS and other navigation systems to precisely determine the position of the survey vessel or equipment, ensuring accurate mapping of the underwater environment.
- Process and analyze bathymetric data to create accurate and detailed charts, maps, and three-dimensional models of the underwater terrain.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during operations to ensure the well-being of personnel and equipment.
- Execute underwater inspections to identify and document submerged structures, obstacles, and potential hazards.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing survey findings, including bathymetry data, navigational hazards, and other relevant information.
- Calibrate and maintain hydrographic surveying equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability in data collection.
- Perform quality control checks on survey data to identify and rectify errors, ensuring the accuracy of the final results.

**Qualifications**:

- At minimum a Diploma in Marine Geomatics, Oceanography, Surveying Technology, or related fields and two (2) years of related experience.
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, hydrography, and cartography.
- Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of hydrographic surveying equipment, including echo sounder, side-scan sonar, and GPS systems.
- Proficiency in using surveying software for data processing and mapping.
- Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Practical experience with hydrographic surveying equipment and techniques.
- Familiarity with marine environments and navigation is advantageous.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for chart production and data processing.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
- The ability to troubleshoot and solve problems that may arise during survey operations.
- The ability to work effectively unsupervised and as part of a team.
- Collaborating with other professionals in marine-related fields.
- Reporting to the Operations Director.
