We excel in civil and structural engineering, surveying and the design of infrastructure systems for commercial, residential, governmental and industrial projects.
We are seeking a Survey Technician to join our South Shore and/or Metro offices.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Travel to and from job sites throughout Nova Scotia
- Participate in field surveys and operate survey instruments and devices;
- Assist in the preparation of detailed drawings, charts and plans;
- Keep records, measurements and other survey information in systematic order;
- Assist in the calculation, analysis and computation of measurements obtained during field surveys
- Any and all responsibilities assigned by the department head.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong and proven spatial recognition skills
- Able to successfully and consistently operate all field survey equipment
- Able to lift and carry +/ 30lbs
- Formal survey technician training from an accredited institution considered an asset
- Chainsaw L1 (challenge or complete L3 optional) considered an asset
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Appreciates outdoor work
- Must be available and able to travel frequently throughout the South Shore, Halifax Regional Municipality and the Annapolis Valley.
- Valid Nova Scotia drivers license
- Uses and applies good field judgement for accuracy, and adequacy of field work
- Occupation Health & Safety, WHMIS and First Aid training considered an asset.
