We excel in civil and structural engineering, surveying and the design of infrastructure systems for commercial, residential, governmental and industrial projects.

We are seeking a Survey Technician to join our South Shore and/or Metro offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travel to and from job sites throughout Nova Scotia
  • Participate in field surveys and operate survey instruments and devices;
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed drawings, charts and plans;
  • Keep records, measurements and other survey information in systematic order;
  • Assist in the calculation, analysis and computation of measurements obtained during field surveys
  • Any and all responsibilities assigned by the department head.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong and proven spatial recognition skills
  • Able to successfully and consistently operate all field survey equipment
  • Able to lift and carry +/ 30lbs
  • Formal survey technician training from an accredited institution considered an asset
  • Chainsaw L1 (challenge or complete L3 optional) considered an asset
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Appreciates outdoor work
  • Must be available and able to travel frequently throughout the South Shore, Halifax Regional Municipality and the Annapolis Valley.
  • Valid Nova Scotia drivers license
  • Uses and applies good field judgement for accuracy, and adequacy of field work
  • Occupation Health & Safety, WHMIS and First Aid training considered an asset.
