Heavy Equipment Operator are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of an excavator on site. This role is responsible for the safe movement and loading of waste or recyclable material.

**Excavation - 70%**
- Performs routine inspection and minor maintenance on vehicles/heavy equipment such as checking oil, fluid levels, and tires.
- Performs operations, such as structural demolition, excavating, grading, ramp building, stockpiling, backfilling, and towing, ensuring maximum productivity
- Maneuver heavy equipment to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials.
- Installs, operates, and removes attachments (buckets, sheers, grapples, pulverizer, and breakers)

**Structural Demolition**
- Loading, construction waste in walking floors trailer & bins, scrap metal processing,

**Site Clean-up**
- Concrete processing and removal
- Site organization -bulk sort demolition debris with excavator

**Safety**
- Attends and participates in daily FLRA meetings
- Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Supervisor.
- Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required
- Notifies Supervisor of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.
- Identifies and reports all equipment in need of repair or replacement.

**Qualifications**:

- **Safe and efficient operation of an excavator; loading and moving waste and recycling/ Experience in demolition**:

- Working knowledge with reading plans and understanding of grades.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ethical and works with a high level of integrity
- Adaptability/ Flexibility
- Decision Making and Judgement
- Problem Solving
- Must be _available to work days, including alternate Saturdays_ in a fast-paced outdoor industrial environment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $28.00 per hour
