Whistler Multicultural Society (WMS) supports immigrants and newcomers to be resilient and thrive by growing social capital, skills, knowledge, and experience to ensure their success and participation in our community while fostering intercultural awareness and understanding in communities across the Sea to Sky. Our programs build cross-cultural interaction and connections, develop awareness and understanding of our local diversity, and seek to grow equity and inclusion. We aim to build the voice and profile of diversity in our local communities through education, community dialogue, and community inclusion and anti-racism initiatives.

**COORDINATOR - S2S RESILIENCE**
Reporting to Programs & Managing Director, the Coordinator - S2S Resilience is responsible for coordinating resilience and anti-racism programing and initiatives delivered by the Whistler Multicultural Society. This includes the planning and delivery of community dialogues and engagement, tracking of statistics and reports of racism and discrimination, developing local plans for activities/programing to build understanding of, and actions to address, racism and discrimination in our local communities through stakeholder engagement and consensus-building. This position actively advocates for and works to build greater equity, diversity, and inclusion.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Planning for and coordination of the S2S Resilience program
- Community and stakeholder outreach and engagement via focus groups, online and in-person communication, workshops, webinars and public dialogue.
- Engaging those with lived experience in the development of programming
- Building relationships with other service providers and stakeholders to provide support and encourage collaboration and participation across sectors in the development of anti-racism dialogue and initiatives
- Liaison with program delivery experts, recruitment of potential speakers and dialogue participants
- Management of program delivery, monitoring, tracking, and reporting to meet funder requirements
- Oversight of promotion and marketing of program activities and events including development of an online resource to support the program and its deliverables
- Input to ongoing funding sourcing and budgeting
- Maintenance of positive and clear communication with other core team members, especially other WMS staff, to facilitate teamwork and ensure program values are reflected in all WMS programing and services

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- Self-motivation, flexibility, and ability to work independently and to leverage tools and resources in a creative way
- Interest in building diversity, inclusion and equity particularly in intercultural environments
- Ability to build strong working relationships, good team player, and experience working with culturally-diverse and racialized individuals

Qualifications/experience valued include:

- Knowledge of concepts related to race and anti-racism, equity, intersectionality, decolonization
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with issues of a sensitive and confidential nature and effectively handle potentially emotionally charged conversations
- Understanding of systemic barriers and sense of belonging for BIPOC communities.
- Facilitation skills valued
- Program coordination experience in a non-profit environment
- Ability to achieve program goals/targets including planning ahead for contingencies and identifying solutions to problems to ensure best results
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

**Job terms**:
14-16 hours/week till March 31, 2025 initially with the possibility of expansion/extension

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 19 months
Part-time hours: 14-16 per week

**Salary**: $26.27-$34.96 per hour
