Team Lead, Wash Plant

**OBJECTIVE**

Reporting to the Production Manager, Finished Goods, the Team Lead (Wash) is responsible for the coordination of production employees in the wash plant, as well as overall responsibility for wash plant asset utilization, efficiency, productivity, and care.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Current license for Forklift & Reach
- Minimum 1-3 years production lead experience, food industry an asset
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Manufacturing line experience using simple equipment and interfaces
- Strong communication skills
- Team player with a “hands-on” approach to leadership
- Attention to detail and ability to problem solve
- Ability to multi-task
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs when needed and stand on feet for majority of the working day
- Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required, which may include some evenings and weekends

**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Verify correct product is staged for the days production runs in accordance with the Daily Production Schedule. Check all PO numbers and quantities for accuracy.

2. Accountable for accurate transactions in ERP system to track consumption of all raw product, and generation of all by-products.

3. Assign duties to all wash plant staff (forklift operators, production associates).

4. Work alongside Production Team Leads and Production Supervisor to complete the daily production schedule efficiently and within the allocated time.

5. Assess raw product for any quality defects and notify Production Supervisor of any concerns before running the product.

6. Verify that all raw product meets customer specifications and make product adjustments when required in coordination with the Production Supervisor. Advise of any serious quality defects before processing product.

7. Accountable for start up and shutdown of all wash lines/grading lines, including but not limited to roll sizer, optical sorters, sprout nip applicators, tsunami applicators.

8. Maintain organization and cleanliness in accordance with prescribed storage locations. Assist in the development and implementation of all Continuous Improvement projects in the wash plant.

9. Ensure compliance with all provincial acts and regulations pertaining to health and safety, food safety, as well as EarthFresh company policies and procedures.

10. Perform all other duties as required by the Production Manager, Finished Goods.

**Experience**:
