Plant Manager

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Oversee and responsible for the day-to-day plant operations; accountable for all aspects of plant performance; meeting production targets, quality standards and customer requirements
- Direct production planning and scheduling process by evaluating sales volumes, inventory requirements and raw product availability; ensure adequate supplies are on hand to achieve production goals
- Identify and analyze deficiencies; implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product; ensure floor response to immediate problems is handled in a timely and constructive manner
- Promote and sustain continuous improvement efforts for plant operations and internal processes to drive excellence and optimize production performance
- Establish and maintain guidelines for production efficiency, labour cost and controlling waste
- Ensure maintenance programs are carried out and production interruption is minimized through consistent preventive maintenance follow-up
- Liaison with other departments to ensure safety, maintenance, process, and quality aspects of the operation meet plant objectives
- Lead and motivate a team of employees across Production, Shipping and Receiving and Maintenance; drive performance through effective collaboration, coaching, goal setting and performance management; ensure communications within and across shifts
- Ensure plant operations are properly staffed with qualified workers; training and development for a safe and productive plant are at the fore-front and practiced; manage full-time, part-time, and temporary staffing needs
- Build and maintain a committed work team that fosters openness, collaboration, and respect while being invested in the customer experience

**Skills and Behaviour**:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (fluent in English)
- Proven track record of success managing and motivating cross-functional teams; building trust; holding individual team members accountable; lead by example
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to dig into the details and troubleshoot; quick to ascertain a situation, be decisive and implement solution
- Ability to lead and drive multiple competing priorities; ability to manage production deadlines and shipping dates; follow through

**Education and Experience**:
- Post secondary education in Business Management or related field
- 5 years experience in a Plant Manager role and in a manufacturing environment
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $100,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
