**Position Overview**

Reporting the Locates Supervisor, the Utility and Private Utility Locator will be responsible for performing utility locates for gas, telephone, water, hydro and telecom. Please note that this position is unionized, therefore it will be a requirement to join the union upon acceptance.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Locate underground utilities accurately using utility mapping systems and electronic locating equipment
- Understand and respond to work requests delegated by Supervisor
- Understand and manipulate utility records
- Ability to effectively document utility locates and follow appropriate documentation procedure
- Ability to work on-call shifts for 24 hour emergency response
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

**Required Knowledge and Experience**
- Completion of post-secondary education
- Must have prior experience with private locates, pre-eng locates and locates of sewers
- Strong computer skills
- MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Self motivated with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work independently and stay productive under mínimal supervision
- Ability to work flexible and/or long hours when required to meet deadlines
- Ability to work accurately and problem solve under pressure
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work to timelines
- Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner
