**Job Description**:
**Position**: Janitor

**Primary Location**:North Vancouver, British Columbia

**Shift**:5x8 Day shift - 5 days per week - Monday to Friday

**Reports To**:Maintenance Manager

**Compensation**:$30.33/hr + benefits

**About This Position and About You**

**Qualification**

Knowledge
- High-school certificate
- Completion of a janitorial certificate training program preferred (BSW certificate)
- Minimum 1 year related janitorial experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment

Competencies- Health and safety awareness and knowledge related to the position specifically and manufacturing environment in general- Excellent time management and planning skills
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Proven ability to work without supervision.
- Demonstrate initiative, responsibility, and flexibility.
- Able to prioritize work according to plant and personnel requirements
- Able to assess work environment hazards and decide how work may be approached to minimize risks

**Responsibilities**
- Clean offices, including dusting, vacuuming carpets and cleaning windows.
- Clean and re-stock coffee machines and clean any spillage.
- Empty waste bins in offices and other areas
- Clean washrooms and resupply areas with stock
- Clean Damp mop linoleum and tiled floors
- Other duties as assigned.

**Physical Job Demands**:

- Physical ability to stoop, lift, stretch and stand as required for the performance of the job duties both indoors and outdoors.
- Must be physically able to lift 50lb.
- Must be able to wear all required PPE.
- No allergies or conditions that would be aggravated by the handling of cleaning products.
