**What Are We Looking For?**
FortisAlberta is looking for an experienced Journeyman Power Line Technicians to support our South Construction Crew. We’re specifically looking for an individual who is an exceptional team player, devoted to safety, and is committed to providing an exceptional customer experience.
This position will work with strict adherence to safety practices, regulations, and procedures to construct, maintain, repair, or troubleshoot the electric distribution system, whether overhead or underground. Live line work, drafting and performing switching plans, patrolling lines, drafting and obtaining hold offs, and conducting inspections will all be part of the daily duties for this position.
The Journeyman Power Line Technician will support construction readiness, which will include placing first calls, coordinating Planned Power Outages (PPOs), booking third party contractors (such as backhoes, hydrovac operators, and other contractors), and ensure construction sites are prepared as required.
The role will also be expected to mentor apprentices, and perform other special projects and duties as assigned.

- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal customers and team members; this includes good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a part of a team or independently as an individual contributor.
- Good organizational and time management skills, able to manage numerous projects and competing demands.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.).
**Required Qualifications**:
**Other Qualifications we are looking for**:
- Additional trade certifications, certificates, diplomas, or degrees in a related discipline would be considered an asset.
**Special Conditions**:
- The Construction crew operates on an eight (8) consecutive day, ten (10) hours a day work schedule, Tuesday through the following Tuesday followed by six days off, with a 7 a.m. start time. Alternatively, the crew will work a four (4) day a week, ten (10) hour a day schedule Monday through Thursday with every Friday off, with a 7 a.m. start time. Travel outside the service point office and overnight stays will be required.
