**Position Overview**
Reports to the Principal Investigator.
**Position Description**
**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Oversees computerized laboratory database, including data cleaning, cutting, programming, data storage and management
- Perform easy to complex statistical analysis
- Assists in preparation of data for scientific presentations and research manuscripts
- Development of tools and programs to assist with data visualizations, decision support tools, and knowledge translation products
- Advise and train students, co-workers and researchers in statistics/biostatistics and specific databases as needed
- Ensures that work assigned is completed as required
- Ensures that immediate supervisor is kept informed of activities and progress of work
- Share knowledge and expertise to improve team work
- Keep up-to-date with advances in field of statistics/biostatics
**Qualifications / Requirements**:
- Bachelors degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent required
- Experience working in data science as a research assistant required
- Courses in database management, multiregression analysis, survival analysis and repeated measures analysis
- Working expertise of Statistical software: R (required), SAS (preferred), and STATA (preferred)
- Proficiency in a Windows environment: Knowledge of MS office (required) and MS Access (preferred)
- Ability to interpret/explain results from data analyses in the context of the research project
- Effective communication of statistical ideas (oral and written) with health researchers
- Ability to multitask and great organizational skills
- Ability to manage and determine priorities
- Strong analytical reasoning skills and decision making skills are essential
