This position is not eligible to work remotely.

**Characteristic Duties**: Under the general supervision of the Manager of Corporate Security.

1. Keeping a customer service approach, support the day-to-day operation of contracted security staff performing dispatch and surveillance services and related equipment by providing guidance and support as required and escalate issues to the manager.
2. Maintain various filing systems and computer records for Corporate Security including confidential reports.
3. Maintain and review guard reports identifying discrepancies and escalate any concerns/issues as needed to the manager.
4. Assist in preparing reports and video files for investigations by the city or other law enforcement agencies related to security and the department.
5. Respond to security and by-law related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including disputed parking tickets.
6. Issue, maintain, audit, and reconcile access cards for the electronic access control system used by the city.
7. Assist other administrative staff within the department during periods of overload, vacation or absence and perform miscellaneous typing and other related duties, as required.
8. Assist with payroll duties as required; maintain attendance reports and vacation schedules, etc., as assigned for Corporate Security.
9. Support the security response activities as defined in the CGS Fire Plan.
10. Notify parking control and by-law officers of the Notice of Trials and First appearances and distribute notices.
11. Order office and department supplies, uniforms, and equipment and coordinate repairs and maintenance of fleet vehicles.
12. Gather documentation for legal proceedings and assist with Freedom of Information requests as required.
13. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS’s Safety Manual and the applicable provincial legislation listed therein.
14. Perform other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of secondary school (grade XII) education with an additional one (1) year of post-secondary education in a related discipline (e.g., Office Administration, Business Administration, Corporate Safety and Security) from a recognized College with Canadian accreditation.
- Over one (1) year up to and including two and one-half (2½) years of directly related experience, specifically with computerized security and surveillance systems and all related components.
- Security experience with a large corporation considered an asset.
- Satisfactory keyboarding skills (40 words per minute).
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills in dealing with the public in a courteous and effective manner.
- Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
- French verbal and written skills an asset.
- Provide, at own cost, a Criminal Reference Check.
- Satisfactory health, attendance, and former employment history.
- May require the use of a personal or CGS vehicle on CGS business. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver’s licence, have an acceptable driving record, and personal insurance coverage.
