**Overview**:
This is a supervisory position that reports to the Program Manager, Records and Information. The Exhibits and Inventory Supervisor performs complex work of technical nature overseeing the municipal staff and operations within the Exhibits and Inventory sections for RCMP Administration.
**Examples of key responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Supervise, direct, assign work, train, coach and motivate team members of the Exhibits and Inventory section.
- Conducts audits and reports or investigates discrepancies and checks and reconciles records for accuracy and completeness.
- Arranges special security for and/or packaging and shipment of a variety of weapons and police equipment; large narcotic seizures, firearms and/or exhibits of high monetary value.
- Assists with troubleshooting and help facilitate unusual requests and/or issues.
- Maintains safe custody of both Inventory and Exhibits rooms.
- Responsible for ordering and maintenance of supplies and assets for Inventory and Exhibits.
- Examining ammunition, troubleshooting and conducting minor repairs.
- Conducts routine meetings and performance conversations with team and provides feedback of staff performance to Manager.
- Assists with recruitment of staff.
- Prepares schedule and ensures operational coverage; seek authorization for overtime.
- Attend stakeholder and working group meetings (i.e. Exhibit Custodian and Inventory Supervisor seminars, as required) and engage and action stakeholders as required.
- Responds to inquiries, arranges for destruction, disposal, repair and movement of exhibits and inventory.
- Keeps up to date with Court activity pertaining to exhibits and may give evidence in Court on continuity of Exhibits.
- Liaises regularly with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepares and records meeting minutes/notes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:
- Sound experience in the administration of police operational equipment, property and exhibits.
- Solid experience and strong knowledge of departmental operations, rules, regulations, procedures and policies related to the work and knowledge of evidentiary requirements, the Criminal Code of Canada and applicable Federal and Provincial Statutes and Municipal Bylaws as related to the work.
- Ability to use both analytical and critical thinking skills to problem solve within established rules, regulations and policies.
- Experience with receipt, control, continuity, maintenance, safeguarding, and movement of property and exhibits held by the RCMP.
- Knowledge of inventory management, overseeing and safe keeping, ordering, maintenance and movement of a variety of inventory items and assets including by not limited to police operational equipment, firearms and use of force items.
- Ability to supervise, plan, assign, review, schedule, train and direct the work of a moderately sized group also engaged in complex duties.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to provide direction, guidance and trouble shoot on work related issues.
- Experience with PRIME, Wisetrack and intermediate Excel.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a relevant RCMP security clearance.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent supplemented by courses related to Inventory Management or Records Management.
- Completion of Firearms Acquisition Certificate.
- A minimum of two years experience in supervising, directing, and motivating an essential operations team.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia.
- Possession of PAL is an asset.
