**Summary**

A Personnel Manager administers support with; the payroll programs, Recruitment & Selection, Orientation and Training for Associates and performs compliance tasks as outlined by Wal-Mart policies, programs and government guidelines. Personnel Managers are available and seek to educate and give advice to management and associates on people policies and procedures, (as they relate to their area of responsibility). Personnel Managers are an accessible resource to associates to answer people policy and payroll related questions; working towards the transfer of knowledge so that associates may accomplish self-directed learning, and advise associates on where to seek support (e.g. direct to management or resource for living) to resolve concerns, questions and meet needs. While maintaining exemplary customer service by adhering to the Basic Beliefs and values of Wal-Mart.

**General Responsibilities**
- Practicing the 3 meter Attitude.
- Participating in daily rotational meetings reviewing benefit policy of the week and any updates.
- Training and directing daily activities of the Back-Up Personnel Associate.
- Directing associate to management and/or other support available and appropriate for the situation (resources for living) when approached with open door concerns.
- Accessible to Associates to inform on Wal-Mart People policies, practices and programs.
- Functions as a First line resource to support Associates education on their benefits and pay.

**Additional Responsibilities**
- Adheres to all company policies and standard operating procedures.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned.

**Customer Service Scheduling / Payroll**
- Calculates all wage adjustments on appropriate forms. Obtains Store Managers signature of approval prior to entry into SMART system.
- Enters pay increases and status changes in the SMART system accurately and on time, immediately completing any accompanying paperwork to complete the process.
- Prints the FT/PT exception report on behalf of the management team, documenting all exceptions, and distributes to store management team to take appropriate action.
- Posts finalized schedules.
- Prepares scheduled vs. budgeted wage report for Regional Assistant wage approval.
- Enters time adjustment sheets, vacation pay, sick pay, etc.
- Attaches time adjustment sheets to weekly Timeclock Archive to be filed.
- Maintains payroll hours in the SMART system and follows-up with the management team regarding associate exceptions.
- Tracks vacation pay and sick hours paid.
- Completes any necessary adjustments and finalizes payroll.
- Prints store staffing comparison report for the management team to review/action.
- Prints attendance tracking report for the management team to review/action.
- Completes requests from Service Canada for associate payroll information.

**Recruitment & Selection**
- Partners with management and is aware of recruitment needs both immediate and seasonal needs supporting recruitment activities to meet the needs of the business.
- Posts vacancies to Kenexa recruiting system and updates applicant statuses, closing Req IDs upon completion.
- Prepares job offer paperwork for Store Manager.
- Co-ordinates with management to support their involvement with the group interview process.

**Orientation**
- Co-ordinates the New Associate Orientation process for new associates, schedules the associates, the room, and a trained member of management to facilitate, coordinates managers and key associates to participate in the NAO, and is available to facilitate the Personnel Manager section.
- Creates a personnel file for each new Associate as per guidelines entering new Associates into the SMART system.
