Conditions of Employment:

- Able to travel to remote communities via airplane

Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Post-secondary degree in social sciences. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Case management experience in the social services field
- Experience using a client-centered, trauma informed approach that considers a person’s race, gender, religion and past trauma experiences
- Superior written communication skills, including experience preparing original content
- Sound judgment and decision making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to manage stress effectively in a high volume and high stress environment
- Experience fostering and contributing to a positive and respectful work environment
- Knowledge of the Compensation for Victims of Crime Program.

**Desired**:

- Experience administering financial benefits

**Duties**:
The Adjudicator position is under the Compensation for Victims of Crime Program (CVCP). The Adjudicator is responsible to meet with and assess victims in order to provide financial, medical, emotional or other support services. The Adjudicator is responsible for the interpretation of The Victims’ Bill of Rights as it relates to the CVCP and adjudication of claims, including the calculation of all benefits. The Adjudicator also provides on-going case management to victims who have been injured and require support in returning to pre-injury status. Further, they are responsible for assessing the needs and services required by claimants, managing the vocational and rehabilitation process for injured victims, and determining entitlement to medical intervention. The Adjudicator is required to provide professional, comprehensive assessments, continuity of care and emotional support for the claimant, as well as monitor expenditures within the constraints of fiscal realities.
