NEC Native Education College is a large private Indigenous college in Vancouver and works with First Nations

and Indigenous organizations to deliver programs in locations throughout British Columbia. NEC works to

strengthen Indigenous communities through accredited programs that lead to employment and higher

learning. NEC seeks one casual instructor to teach in the ITST Certificate Program.

Reporting to the Program Coordinator of the Information Technology Support Technician, the instructor will

provide student support, teaching 1 course for the Fall semester, assisting with, student support, curriculum

development, and the NEC learning management system (Moodle) development. Please visit our website for

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Any combination of education and work experience as follows will be considered:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred). The Provincial Instructor’s Diploma or

equivalent is an asset.

Significant teaching experience (at least one year), preferably in the post-secondary education system.
Excellent verbal, written and computer communication skills.
Knowledge of Indigenous Peoples’ values, communities, instructional methodology, and

experience working with Indigenous adults and organizations.

Curriculum development and lesson planning experience is a priority.

Knowledge about assessment for learning and assessment of learning from an indigenous lens

Experience with navigating Moodle is a must.

**Terms**:
Appointment to this casual contract position will require a formal criminal record check, the details of which
may preclude an offer of employment being finalized. Preference will be given to qualified Indigenous applicants
- seeking groups.

**Days of Work**:7 hour/week
**Salary**:$38.41/hour
