Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB) serves approximately 15,400 students each day at 39 in-person schools (32 elementary, two K-12; four 7-12, one secondary). Supporting student achievement is the goal of approximately 1,750 teaching and support staff who, in addition to the contributions of caring volunteers and community partners, share their passion for teaching and learning.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
T he successful applicant’s responsibilities will focus on the design, development, modification, maintenance, and troubleshooting of district and schools Wide Area, Local Area and Wireless Network infrastructures, Firewalls, Switches, Storage Area Networks, Data Center / Telecommunication Rooms, and board’s disaster recovery and backup systems. Key responsibilities also are the operations and supports of the mission critical networks, equipment, and systems in the areas of user access, network access, security, and threat management to servicing resolutions.

**QUALIFICATIONS**: Four-year university undergrad degree in computer science or 3-year advanced college diploma with industry experience plus certifications. Over three and up to four years combined on-the-job and related experience troubleshooting, support and maintenance of software, networks, operating systems, infrastructures (WAN, LAN) at the school as well as corporate and enterprise levels. Experience providing support for firewalls is an asset; constant introduction to new technology. Must possess demonstrated excellent computer, word processing, problem-solving, analysis, time management and highly effective communications skills. Flexibility with hours of work may be required.
