**Finance Manager**

**Permanent 1.0 EFT - 36.25 hours per week**

**$45.79 - $54.38 per hour**

**SUMMARY OF POSITION**

A professional, independent and strategic manager and leader, working within a multi-disciplinary team, who leads the implementation of the financial vision of the Executive Director and delivers on the financial requirements of all mandates/funding agreements. The Finance Manager is accountable for the accounting and financial operations of Youville including; financial oversight; human resources; and implementation of/adherence to policies and by-laws of Youville Centre, with a purpose of creating and maintaining financial and accounting systems that facilitate operations and assist Youville in meeting the wellness and wholistic health needs of those accessing services and supports from the organization.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Prepares monthly financial statements. Reviews statements and budget variances with the Executive Director.
- Prepares forecast and variance reports and updates monthly.
- Prepares monthly and year-end journal entries.
- Prepares and analyzes semi-annually, the Operating Statements for all Ancillary Programs. Meets with Team leads on an as-need basis to review variances.
- Oversees the accounts payable, accounts receivables and payroll functions ensuring that transactions are posted in a timely manner to the correct accounting period. Provides back-up coverage for these functions as required.
- Attends the Finance meetings to present the financial statements to Finance Committee providing variance reports and variance explanations.
- Prepares all materials for the annual audit and drafts the year-end financial statements.
- Liaison with Funders and External Audit Team.
- Reviews the Registered Charity Return prepared by the external auditors.
- Prepares all required reporting for the WRHA and all government entities and agencies.
- Supervises the Finance Clerk.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 5 years experience in financial accounting; health care environment an asset
- Masters Degree in related field
- Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and accounting software (knowledge of Payworks and Great Plains an asset)
- Able to provide reports, correspondence and summaries that are logically presented.
- Problem solving skills, self-directed and goal oriented
- Experience in preparation and analysis of monthly and year-end financial statements, quarterly reports and quality improvement indicators.
- Interpersonal and Human Resource management an asset. The capacity to work with a variety of people in a supportive environment
- Demonstrated capacity to manage and lead in a health and social service environment.
- Demonstrated bilingualism is an asset (French and English)
- Criminal Record Check is required
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.
