About the role

This is a temporary position with a duration of 24 months.

**What you'll do**:

- Supervise a team and monitor on day-to-day underwriting processing activities. These activities include:

- Communicating with clients on quality of files and reinforcing CMHC's standards and policies.
- Streamline and develop operational process efficiencies and seek opportunities for improvement via design, measurement, analysis and control.
- Report on day-to-day underwriting processing activities and analyze metrics.
- Set objectives, establish clear expectations, conduct performance management reviews for the managed team by providing ongoing feedback/coaching while fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability for results.

**What you should have**:

- An undergraduate degree in a related field such as business, finance or commerce.
- A minimum of five years of experience in underwriting including two years of supervisory experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills including presentation and negotiation skills in both official languages.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, including the ability to provide coaching and feedback.
- Capacity to delegate and organize the work of others to meet specified deadlines.

**It would be great if you also had**:

- Knowledge of the multi-unit/rental industry and best practices relating to underwriting.
- Advanced Proficiency in Excel.
