Position Summary: As a Volunteer Program Project Assistant, you will be a valuable member of a team responsible for developing, overseeing and coordinating a volunteer program within our organization focusing on recruitment, training and retention of a volunteer workforce. The Volunteer Program Project Assistant will report to the Volunteer Program Project Leader.

The mission of Ha Ha Ha Kidzfest is to present world standard performing arts and participatory activities that are entertaining, educational and accessible to children from all social, economic and ethnic backgrounds. This Volunteer Program would be in direct support of the Organization’s mission.

**Responsibilities**:
Volunteer Recruitment: Develop and execute effective strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers, including outreach, advertising, and community engagement.

Volunteer Training and Orientation: Design and conduct comprehensive orientation and training programs to equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their responsibilities effectively.

Volunteer Management: Provide ongoing support and supervision to volunteers, including assigning tasks, setting goals, and providing feedback to ensure their performance aligns with the organization's standards.

Project Planning: Collaborate with relevant teams and stakeholders to identify project needs and create project plans that clearly outline volunteer roles, timelines, and deliverables.

Project Execution: Oversee the execution of projects, coordinating with volunteers and other team members to ensure timely completion and high-quality outcomes.

Performance Evaluation: Establish metrics for evaluating the performance and impact of volunteers and projects and conduct regular assessments to provide feedback and identify areas for improvement.

Volunteer Recognition: Develop and implement a recognition program to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of volunteers to foster a positive and motivated volunteer community.

Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of volunteer information, activities, and achievements, ensuring compliance with relevant data protection and privacy laws.

Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication channels between volunteers, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed and engaged in the program's progress including reporting at monthly board meetings.

Budget Management: Assist in the creation and management of the volunteer program budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and responsibly.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Previous experience in volunteer management or leadership roles is highly desirable.
- Strong administrative and research skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with volunteers and stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Passion for community engagement and a commitment to the organization's mission and values.

This position is a temporary position beginning September 11, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024. Number of work hours may be negotiated (Potential for either part time or full time). Wage commensurate with experience ($22-27/hour).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-35 per week

**Salary**: $22.00-$27.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Penticton, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Work Location: In person
