Reporting to the Manager of Accommodations and Facilities, the Facilities provides a broad range of accommodations services in the Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Trade and its entities. This includes offices in Edmonton and Calgary as well as numerous regional locations across the province. This position provides technical expertise to all staff of the department and entities to ensure that they have necessary tools to provide efficient delivery of program services.

The incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the delivery of a broad range of accommodations and facilities services such as smaller accommodation furniture planning, facility management, small WORTS projects, fleet vehicles and parking, access cards, telecommunications and surplus.

The position is responsible to deliver to deliver these services through the partnership and coordination of unit staff, client business units, other Governmental departments and multiple public and private sector service providers.

Responsibilities include:

- **Accommodation Planning and Tenant Improvement Projects**
- Assists with the planning and implementation of smaller accommodation projects within the Ministry/entities, liaising and negotiating with Infrastructure representatives, clients, and contractors as required.
- Reviews plans for smaller accommodations projects in consultation with clients and other representatives. Recommends changes to plans based on review of functional working areas (i.e. placement of electrical, network, and telephone outlets, furniture, and egress)
- Supports the Manager and other team members by assisting with small WORTS projects, moves, and minor tenant improvements (carpet replacements, painting, furniture modernizations etc.)
- **Coordination building maintenance, WORTS and tenant services functions.**
- Consults with branch clients occupying leased space to determine nature of improvements required.
- Works with manager and other team members to make recommendations as to scope of small projects, works with Infrastructure to solicit bids from contractors for improvements, oversees work performed by contractors, and verifies completion of work prior to client areas approving payment to contractor.
- Responds to questions and provides advice and guidance relating to building maintenance issues to the building management to resolve issues.
- Ensures service requests from branches including electrical, data cabling, janitorial, lock smith, furniture moves, and repair services are submitted. This may include working with admin services Coordinators to complete the task.
- **Parking Administration**
- Administers parking assignments according departmental and Infrastructure policy and procedures and Treasury Board Directive.
- Supports the manager and other team members to initiate procedures to return unused parking stalls according to Infrastructure policy and procedures.
- Running reports and collecting data to ensure accurate records are maintained.

- Supports Lead WAAC & Telecom Task Force in the coordination and delivery of telecom services; changes and termination of lines and equipment (land lines, cell phones and blackberry). Resolves service issues.
