**Medical Office Receptionist/Support Staff - Addiction Recovery**

**Position Characteristics**
The Medical Office Receptionist assists patients with services identified in their care plan. The Receptionist will receive patients and visitors to the clinic in a friendly, non-judgmental and professional manner in accordance with the office procedure of the clinic. The Receptionist is responsible for answering phones, general administrative functions and providing general information about the clinic and its services.
**Responsibility**:
- Schedule and confirm appointments.
- Answer inquiries in person or by telephone.
- Capture patients’ Last Confirmed Dose, medication lists, medical records, etc., when necessary.
- Greet and welcome patients, clients and other visitors.
- Check visitors in and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
- Scan, copy, file and maintain paper or electronic documents.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal information.
- Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.
- Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures.
- Perform Urine Drug Screening for patients when necessary.
- Produce patient letters.
- OTN experience is an asset.
- Keeps a clean waiting area and work environment.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
**Medical Office Receptionist Skills**:

**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous administrative or receptionist experience preferred.
**Job Type**: Casual
**Salary**: From $16.55 per hour
Schedule:
- Morning shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A 3C4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- Secondary School (preferred)
