Emergency preparedness is a critical aspect of CCH operations. It is essential that all staff and physicians receive training and understand their roles and responsibilities in this field.
**Summary of responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager of Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS), the Supervisor is responsible to support the day-to-day operations of internal coordinated access, intake and triage, early years program, and community collaboration tables (including 1 Call 1 Click and Interagency Table). The supervisor also supports the operations of CYMHS Day Treatment and Intensive Services and provides clinical guidance and supervision to assigned counselling staff. The Supervisor will support CYMHS in accreditation preparation, and will represent local, regional and provincial committees as needed.
General Accountabilities:
Supervises day-to-day client flow and operations of internal coordinated access, intake and triage
Supports the Manager in the oversight of the Day Treatment and Intensive Services operations
Provides clinical supervision to assigned CYMHS staff.
Works in partnership with CCH services and community agencies to coordinate client services
Monitors and evaluates client care from a continuous quality improvement perspective
With support of the Manager, develops and ensures implementation of program planning and policies, objectives, standards & procedures, and quality improvement measures, consistent with program mandates and strategic directions
In consultation with the Manager and Senior Director, represent CAMHS on provincial and regional working groups
Keeps abreast of best practice and research for counselling to ensure that clinical direction meets best practice
Supports staff in crisis management and supports incident debriefing within the program where necessary
**Requirements of the job**:
Minimum 2-year college diploma in human services field i.e., Social Services Worker
Registration with a College that is authorized to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy
Trained in the delivery of counselling to clients experiencing issues with addiction, mental health and concurrent disorders
5 years’ experience in the treatment of individuals experiencing issues with mental health/addiction/concurrent disorders
Knowledge of the issues affecting individuals, families, caregivers and communities (e.g., poverty, unemployment, stigma, isolation)
Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
Ability to work with agencies, hospitals and the broader community
Training and experience providing administrative and clinical supervision to counselling staff
Ability to hire, train, supervise and retain qualified staff
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft office suite and Cerner
Knowledge of Trauma informed practice and implementation of techniques to enhance client care
Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation on a regular basis.
