Montréal, Canada TapClicks Full time

TapClicks, a fast-growing Silicon Valley-based software company with around 20 engineers in Montreal, is looking for a new Data Quality Analyst to ensure that our data connectors are high quality and monitor them for any issues. We currently allow clients to do end-to-end management of marketing campaigns, as well as integrate with over 200 third-party APIs to fetch data from different sources and report it in a unified dashboard, saving agencies and their clients time and allowing them to make better decisions.
- **Responsibilities**:_

**Fetch Log Monitoring**: Perform daily monitoring of our fetch (data load) logs using internal tools to promptly identify possible errors and create relevant tickets, ensuring swift error resolution. Make suggestions for how to improve our processes and better classify errors.

**Proactive External API Monitoring**: Continuously monitor changes in the APIs of numerous vendors from whom data is fetched using special internal tools. Proactively assess the impact of these changes and initiate necessary adaptations to maintain system compatibility and efficiency.

**Testing**: Conduct rigorous testing of bug fixes, new features, and enhancements targeting weekly patches, daily hotfixes, and monthly releases, ensuring software quality and functionality.

**Collaboration**: Communicate effectively with a dedicated team of software engineers and product managers to comprehend and validate the system's behavior, fostering strong teamwork.

**Test Design**: Develop comprehensive test designs for a set of typical new features, ensuring thorough coverage and efficient testing strategies.

**Documentation and Knowledge Sharing**: Create and maintain detailed documentation for testing processes, results, and any identified issues. Contribute valuable insights and findings to the knowledge bases to facilitate the collective learning and improvement of the team.

**Issue Tracking**: Use internal issue tracking tools to report, monitor, and verify software defects, and ensure their timely resolution.

**Continuous Improvement**: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to enhancing the quality assurance workflow.
- **Skills**:_

**Passion for Quality**: Demonstrated enthusiasm for maintaining and improving software quality, with a commitment to excellence. Self motivated / driven - sees a problem and fixes it rather than waiting for it to be reported.

**Manual Testing Expertise**: Proficiency in manual testing, including knowledge of various types of tests (functional, regression, usability, etc.), testing methodologies, and best practices for thorough and effective manual testing.

**SQL Proficiency**: Basic knowledge of SQL for querying and validating data (JOINs, relational data model).

**Algorithm Understanding**: Familiarity with simple algorithms, enabling efficient test case creation and problem-solving.

**OS Knowledge**: Basic knowledge of Linux-like operating systems.

**Analytical Thinking**: Strong analytical skills to dissect and understand complex software systems and identify potential issues.

**Communication Skills**: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members.

**Positive Attitude**: A positive and proactive mindset, contributing to a constructive work environment and adaptability to challenges.

**Quick Learner**: Ability to quickly grasp new concepts, tools, and technologies, adapting to evolving software testing methodologies.

**Attention to Detail**: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that no defects or issues go unnoticed during testing (especially around data quality and accuracy).

**Routine Tasks**: Comfortable with performing routine tasks like fetch log & API version monitoring and similar activities which should be done daily and may take up to 1 hour.

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
