The University of Ottawa Students’ Union (UOSU) is seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Information Technology to lead our IT department. The IT Director will oversee the development and implementation of the UOSU's technology strategy and lead a team of IT professionals. This role is critical in ensuring that our technology resources effectively support the UOSU's operations, services, and strategic initiatives.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement comprehensive IT strategies that align with UOSU's mission, values, and objectives.
- Lead and manage the IT Department, fostering a collaborative, engaged, and innovative work environment.
- Develop, implement, enforce, and oversee policies and procedures for IT governance, risk management, cybersecurity, and data protection, ensuring the organization's compliance with relevant laws and standards.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and external partners.
- Oversee strategies for budgeting and procurement, providing detailed reporting on variances and proactively forecasting future expenditures.
- Perform advanced scripting and programming for configuration management, data processing, system integration, and automation.
- Advocate for the UOSU's technological needs, providing insights and recommendations, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, as required.
- Direct the development and execution of training and programs aimed at enhancing IT capabilities across the organization.
- Handle IT crises and emergencies on-call, including overnight or on weekends, with a calm and strategic approach, minimizing impact on services and stakeholders.
- Occasionally attend Executive Committee or Board of Directors meetings, if requested, including during evenings and weekends.
- Lead by example in promoting the UOSU's mission, values, and positive image, ensuring all IT efforts reflect and enhance the organization's reputation.
- Additional responsibilities as required to support the IT needs of the UOSU.
