Excavator Driver

Macadam Construction is a Halifax-based company responsible for the construction & development of projects ranging from subdivisions & commercial plazas to high-rise mixed-use developments with residential, commercial, and retail tenants, to traditional apartments.

We are currently hiring an **Experienced** Excavator Operator to join our team and continue expanding our portfolio.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Maneuvering motorized heavy equipment to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials,
- Aiding coworkers to ensure that the site is clean and organized at the end of each shift,
- Excavating, loading and off loading rocks, debris and other materials,
- Advising the foreman of required upgrades, repairs and replacements as necessary.

**Qualifications**
- Hardworking individual,
- Must have your own personal protection equipment (hard hat, steal toed boots, reflective vest,
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Experience on a commercial site is preferred
- Midrise demolition experience is an asset

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent,
- A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines,
- Capacity to follow directions,
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment,
- Excellent vision or use of prescribed lenses,
- Sharp decision making skills, particularly when under pressure
