Job Summary

The Business Analyst, CN Elevate is responsible for identifying, eliciting, analyzing, specifying, and validating the business needs associated to the implementation of the new Systems, Applications, Products (SAP) S/4HANA Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This role acts as a liaison between the Solution integrator, Information & Technology (I&T) and the business and translates the business needs into detailed requirements.

Main Responsibilities

Project Responsibilities for Accounts Payable (AP) - 50%
- Document and analyze both business requirements and process flows for the finance transformation project using SAP S/4HANA
- Review and provide business feedback on detailed process design and functional specifications developed by the Solution Integrator and I&T
- Work closely with the Business Process Lead, CN Elevate and business partners to validate and obtain sign-off on the future-state financial processes
- Assist in analyzing, clarifying, and prioritizing project requirements
- Participate in user acceptance testing activities, including documenting test cases, executing business processes, and recording test results
- Support and assist in the process of data migration and mapping from existing SAP instance (ECC) to new SAP system (S/4HANA)
- Perform analysis for the Business Process Lead, CN Elevate to provide key decision on definition of future processes

Accounts Payable Process Optimization and Compliance - 20%
- Work closely with the AP Business Process Lead, CN Elevate, the Project Core team and various Finance functions to analyze and look for ways to leverage available technology to improve processes
- Ensure that future processes put in place are optimized and the best solutions are selected to achieve objectives
- Protect and improve AP processes such as ensuring that all invoices are recorded, audited, paid accurately and timely

Other Project Related Activities - 30%
- Work closely with the AP Business Process Lead, CN Elevate and other team members to understand and update existing processes and related controls impacted by the project implementation
- Identify impact of system and process changes on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) key controls
- Identify, update and modify existing process documents and create new transition documents for SOX key controls
- Perform testing of security roles to ensure they comply with requirements and segregation of duties rules
- Support and assist in other data related activities such as data profiling, cleansing and reporting
- Perform quality assurance and data integrity reviews
- Support and assist Change Management activities

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday and is eligible to participate in CN’s flexible work from home policy. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress.

**Requirements**:
Experience

Accounting
- Minimum 3 years of experience within an accounting firm or relevant industry experience

Education/Certification/Designation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related experience
- Professional Accounting Designation *

- Strong understanding of the technical aspects of AP
- Strong understanding of the technical aspect of finance*
- In-depth knowledge of and proficiency with SAP
- Strong analytical skills to consider interrelationships between processes to maintain robust Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICFR)*
- Experience with master data management*
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Business Objects)
- Knowledge of Business Warehouse, Supplier Portal, TradeShift, Fieldglass, Concur, Ariba, PowerPlan and Enfos
- Knowledge of Project Management principles
- Fluently bilingual in both written and verbal (English, French)*
- Any knowledge for any of the above would be considered as an asset
