Overview:
Safety is the number one priority and you will need to follow group policies and promote safe working practices.
**Responsibilities**:
- Daily Field Logs to include:
- accurate quantities of daily completed work
- accurate equipment hours
- accurate material delivery summary
- any pictures that detail the day’s work
- notes describing the day’s work
- Daily Field Level Risk Assessments
- Overall supervision of workers to ensure safety and production
- Communication with Superintendent
- Execution of daily plan as discussed with the superintendent
- Immediate reporting of incidents to the superintendent
- Operation of PME and labour work as necessary
- Immediate reporting of any equipment deficiencies/breakdowns
- Ensure all work complies with Safety and Environment issues with Safety being a priority
- Lead and direct people, equipment, and resources
- Conduct hazard assessments, tailgate meetings, and all other required documentation
- Ability to read blueprints, track and report daily job productions, job coding
- Maintain company image
- Ability to train and lead by example as well as delegate roles and responsibilities on a crew
- Ability to adhere to company policies and safety practices
- Have extensive knowledge of paving practices and procedures and overall construction practices
- Ability to order materials and measure for the appropriate quantities as per approved drawings
- Proficient and competent in heavy construction equipment
- Able to deal with difficult situations and resolve issues between co-workers, teammates, etc.
- Able to utilize resources and crew members efficiently
**Daily Work Details**
- Work locations are in and around Saskatoon and will vary during the construction season
- Start dates vary depending on spring conditions and work usually concludes in mid-November.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience
- Able to work well with others
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Good judgement skills in high-pressure situations
- Experience with Topcon and Trimble positioning systems
- Valid Driver’s License
- 3A license required to run certain equipment
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment
- Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
