The People Services Assistant will be responsible for supporting our Talent Acquisition team. Partnering with the Talent Acquisition Associate, the People Services Assistant will coordinate and execute all administrative aspects of the recruitment process including reviewing requisitions, screening applicants and ensuring successful processing of transfers and new hires.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Recruitment & Talent Administration
- Prepare external job advertisements and internal job postings for all union and non-union positions
- Liaise with external job boards and outreach contacts for optimum exposure for vacancies
- Assist with pre-screening applicants as required
- Schedule, coordinating and confirming interviews, including balancing calendars for interview panels and booking meeting rooms
- Schedule and manage pre-employment testing
- Complete background checks for external applicants
- Assist employees and external applicants with the applicant tracking system (eRecruit), including resetting passwords
- Participate in various recruitment related projects, events and activities as required

Employment Administration
- Ensure all new hire documentation is received within required timelines
- Process employment related transaction documentation, including but not limited to: new hires, transfers, promotions, and enter all employee data into HRIS system to maintain employment records and files
- Liaise with Payroll regarding any data entry issues, and take appropriate steps to troubleshoot and resolve
- Calculate service and seniority to determine pay
- Perform cost centre updates, supervisor changes, and/or job changes

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post Secondary Education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience, within a healthcare environment is preferred
- Superior customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically with Word and Excel
- Proven ability to function as a supportive team member
- Proven ability to adhere to a high standard of confidentiality
- Proven ability to work productively and independently with frequent interruptions
- Proven ability to assess inquiries and problems and to exercise good judgment in making the appropriate referrals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven administrative skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Must have a satisfactory performance record

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area
