**WHAT YOU’LL DO**:
The Recreation Therapist is committed to providing holistic care and will assess all patients to identify physical, social, emotional, and developmental needs. The Recreation staff will recognize the individuality and complexity of each participant and encourage involvement. Recreation will establish a written treatment plan to address the problem area and carry out the treatment plan.

**WHAT YOU’LL BRING**:

- Diploma in Recreation/Leisure Studies from a recognized community college or university required
- Therapeutic Recreation Degree preferred
- Relevant Courses preferred; Leadership in Therapeutic Recreation, Assessment and Documentation in Therapeutic Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation and Selected Populations

**WHO YOU ARE**:

- Current & relevant recreational experience working with a geriatric population required
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills required
- Excellent knowledge of programs and implementation techniques in recreation required for a wide range of clientele
- Good computer skills and knowledge of word processing, graphics and Internet programs
- Ability to produce a quarterly newsletter using computer program required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with patients, families, staff, and the community required
- Good knowledge of community resources
- Excellent problem solving and assertiveness skills required
- Demonstrated ability to be outgoing and creative when performing duties
- Demonstrated knowledge of program development
- Required to also work in a variety of inpatient departments to support the functional abilities of long-stay patients such as; CCC, Interim LTC, Rehabilitation, Specialized Geriatric Units, and Functional Enhancement department(s)
- Knowledge of neurological disorders and other physical impairments requiring rehabilitation would be an asset
