We are looking for a Downstream Processing Scientist - Biologics to support our Human Health Therapeutics (HHT) Research Centre. This person would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

In this regard, the position:

- Develops, adapts and implements novel purification processes and related analytics for biologics, vaccine and cell and gene-therapy programs;
- Finding novel solutions to complex purification or assays problems based on current cutting edge approaches;
- Performs feasibility assessment, gap analysis, process scale-up and tech-transfer to a GMP facility.
- Generates required documents for tech-transfer, assist in GMP batch production.
- Plans, develops and leads internal and/or client focused projects in support of Portfolio goals;
- Participate in and demonstrates leadership in project planning, including the prioritization and identification of the requirements for projects;
- Maintains relevant intelligence and information on projects to assist in developing new project proposals;
- Provides guidance, direction and development to portfolio managers, project and team leaders in the area of biologics downstream processing and analytics needed in biomanufacturing;
- Undertakes special projects or assignments to further support the research center’s objectives in support of programs and projects, and project management.

**Screening Criteria**:
**Education**:
Ph.D degree in Bioprocessing, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or any other life science discipline and experience in protein and or virus’s purification development, production and analytics.

A combination of university degree relevant to the position with significant experience may be considered.

**Experience**:

- Significant experience in robust and efficient downstream process development of therapeutics proteins and viruses from various production platforms.
- Significant experience on various lab-scale chromatography and filtration equipment and skids at pilot scale.
- Significant experience in process scale-up, troubleshooting and tech-transfer.
- Experience in writing project proposal, study plans, client reports, SOPs, tech-transfer documents.
- Experience of cGMP working environment.
- Experience with virus purification.

Must be able to possess and retain the physical capabilities to perform the position which include but may not be limited to: crouching, bending, twisting, walking, climbing stairs & ladders, and the ability to handle heavy and bulky objects.

- Extensive knowledge of biochemical sciences, including protein purification, protein chemistry, protein characterization, and process optimization.
- Extensive knowledge of various modality of chromatography (Affinity, IMAC, SEC, IEX, Mixed-Mode) and filtrations (depth filtration, TFF, nanofiltration and sterile filtration).

**Compensation**:
In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
