**Job Summary**:

- Plan, direct, conduct and review Security Threat and Security Administrative Reviews for CSIS facilities to ensure the safeguards are sufficient and adequate defensive measures are in place to protect the service assets. Where necessary, recommend additional safeguards to protect Service assets and employees.
- Develop, revise, implement and ensure compliance of CSIS Security Policies, Procedures and Measures in accordance with the Government Security Policy and Standards throughout the Service.
- Identify, evaluate, research and analyse defensive security systems for the Service’s facilities throughout the country. Ensure, support and prioritize amongst safety, efficiency, reliability and operational availability of same.
- Plan and coordinate security direction for major capital construction and infrastructure projects to ensure Service facilities continue to meet operational expectations for security by directing and consulting engineers and architects.
- Conducts Facility Security Clearances for CSIS contractors to ensure the safeguarding of CSIS information and assets at remote sites by advising/directing company security officers to modify/install the required security safeguards.
- Liaise with Foreign Agencies, Government Departments and Private Industries to exchange information/methodologies/techniques in the field of electronic and mechanical security systems.
- Evaluate new security technologies for their longevity and potential to address business requirements by reading the trade press, attending conferences/seminars and meeting with manufacturers and service providers.
- Conduct information session and training seminars in support of the installation and release of new security systems to CSIS employees as well as Government and Police Departments.
- Provide recommendations as policy center role on accommodation projects and renovations for all CSIS offices by providing definitions of security requirements, design reviews, construction inspections, commissioning, certification and ensuring they comply with the Policy on Government Security.

**Education**:

- Undergraduate degree* and three (3) years of experience in physical security.
- College diploma* and five (5) years of experience in physical security.
- The program must be in Security Management, Architecture, or Building Construction related fields.
- The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.

If you completed a program outside of Canada, you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense through a recognized credential assessment service.
Note: Any higher level of education could be recognized as experience.

**Experience**:
The key knowledge and skills required for the position are in relation to Physical Security.
- Experience in providing recommendations in a policy centre role on complex accommodation projects and renovations by providing definitions of security requirements, design reviews, construction inspections, commissioning, certification and ensuring they comply with the Policy on Government Security and other relevant security policies.
- Experience in creating Asset and Physical Security Threat Risk Assessment, and Facility Security Assessment and Authorization reports.
- Infrastructure Security: Design, Review and Assessments.
- Recent* Experience with the management of complex files pertaining to Physical Security.
- Recent* Experience participating in the development and implementation of tactical and strategic planning activities in a highly secured environment for one or a combination of the following: Facility/real property management, Security, Threat Risk Assessment, Security Management.
- Recent* experience conducting Threat & Risk Assessments.

Recent*: Defined as experience acquired within the last six (6) years.
