**Summary**:
To develop, maintain and populate geospatial asset databases; maintain and support web-based mapping for corporate wide access; prepare data visualizations for various stakeholders; perform prescribed data coordination functions and to validate technical information.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Develop, collect, maintain, and populate consistent corporate infrastructure asset data while implementing data standards, assisting with GIS database maintenance, and adhering to regulatory standards and compliance.
- Maintain and author the corporate web-based GIS and content to ensure the information is current and the system is operating normally.
- Conduct data assessments and gap analysis and plan for ways to fill gaps.
- Facilitate the consistent and accurate flow of asset information in and out of the corporate GIS to various corporate systems and repositories by generating a combination of custom designed solutions or using industry standard software and methods.
- Develop and maintain data in a framework designed to support decision making and regulatory reporting.
- Coordinate the collection, verification, validation, and assembly of data by the GIS Technicians and others, together with the development of templates, forms, and processes with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiencies for entering data into central data repositories.
- Classify, index, file and retrieve various plans and records, as required.
- Retrieve, assemble and collate information from in-house records and transmit this information electronically, orally or in writing to inquiring public or staff, as required.
- Exchange information with utilities (e.g., PVS Locates) and our One Call Locator on underground plant locations, as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for engaging with a wide variety of collaborative partners.
- Perform other similar and related duties as required.

**Position Requirements**:

- Graduation from a Geographical Information Specialist Program or a three (3) year college diploma in Geomatics with an emphasis on Geographic Information Systems Technology.
- Three (3) years’ experience in the analysis and development of spatial data and data structures in a Relational Database Management System preferably in an ORACLE® or MS SQL Server and within a Municipal environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Autodesk products including but not limited to AutoCAD Map3d and AutoCAD Civil3d.
- Demonstrated proficiency in ESRI GIS software including but not limited to ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop.
- Experience developing and working with ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online.
- Demonstrated proficiency with SQL, database structures and competency in modern computer programming and scripting languages.
- Experience using FME (Safe Software) preferred.
- Prepared to enter into a separate confidentiality agreement for access to the corporate data repositories.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software programs and the Internet Information Services environment.
- A demonstrated commitment to enhancing a safety culture.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s licence, Class “G”, with a clean driving record.

**CUPE 157 Pay Group 10 -** Minimum $76,984 annually; Maximum $86,477 annually

**Expected Work Location**:City Hall (eligible for part-time remote work)

**Hours of Work**:Currently Monday to Friday; 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
