**Job Overview**:
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to organize the kitchen’s activities. You will be responsible for various duties in the kitchen including food preparation, managing kitchen staff, and analysing the operating costs of the kitchen.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with Management in creating menus, and ensuring the variety and quality of the servings.
- Prepare, control, and direct the food preparation process and any other related activities.
- Update menu based on current trends and seasons.
- Maintain records of operating costs, food costs, sales and inventory.
- Place orders based on inventory needs in the kitchen and ensure a high level of quality in ingredients.
- Build relationships with local vendors and suppliers.
- Inspect and accept incoming deliveries.
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in an organized and efficient manner.
- Work closely with the Venue Manager to hire, manage, and train kitchen staff on preparation, cooking and safe handling of food.
- Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and control problematic situations.
- Comply with and enforce food safety standards, and sanitization regulations.
- Ensure Kitchen supplies and tools are properly maintained and in safe working condition.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- 3+ years of proven experience as a head chef, executive chef or sous chef
- Successful completion of a relevant post secondary degree
- Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC) or Red Seal designation is considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent leadership and managerial skills
- Food safety / In Good Hands certified
- First Aid training is an asset
