**Position Details**
- The University of Lethbridge is seeking a full-time, continuing position as a Director, Youth Outreach. The Director of Youth Outreach holds a pivotal role in advancing K-12 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Outreach at the University of Lethbridge. The position unites diverse outreach initiatives to align with institutional goals, emphasizing community engagement, program development, and financial stewardship. This position collaborates closely with the Manager of Destination Exploration in guiding K-10 programming and assumes a lead managerial role in other outreach and recruitment events for grades 10-12 that play an important role for attracting highly motivated prospective students. By overseeing Destination Exploration and managing stand-alone high school programs, the Director aligns initiatives with institutional goals, fostering impactful experiences for students while seeking funding opportunities and representing the Institution on a national scale. Programs directed by this position are the first introduction and engagement that community members have with the University and specifically science and research components that lead to future enrolment.

**Position Qualifications**
- Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. education, management, STEM).
- 3-4 years of management experience in an educational environment.
- WHMIS Certified.
- Knowledge of the Alberta K-12 and post-secondary educational systems.
- Ability to prioritize competing priorities and work with several project leaders on an ongoing basis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and safety considerations when working with minors.
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical abilities for short
- and long-term planning and policy implementation.
- General knowledge of equipment used in STEM outreach education.
- Strong management, analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Masters degree in a relevant discipline or Bachelor’s degree with direct experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a not-for-profit setting.
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact successfully with individuals at all levels.
- Knowledge of admission criteria and university programs.
- Experience in developing activities which engage members of underrepresented groups in STEM fields.
- High level of experience and skills to implement programming for equipment used in STEM outreach education (Makey Makey, Ozobots, Arduinos etc).
- Experience in the areas of fundraising, budgeting and strategic planning.
- A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.

**Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)**
- $73,110.48 - $91,972.76 annually

**Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)**
- $73,110.48 - $110,835.04 annually (APO - Grade 4)
