**Human Resource Coordinator**

**Health PEI**

**Location - Souris Hospital, Souris**

**Full-Time Permanent (Excluded) Position**

**(Commencing Immediately)**

**Duties include**:

- provides advice, assistance, and support to managers and supervisors regarding general labour relations matters, including collective agreement administration and interpretation, with support from, and in consultation with, the Human Resource Manager;
- Conduct workplace investigations and respond to complaints and/or incidents; Gather information and documents necessary to support in the investigation by conducting interviews with the managers, employees and union representation;
- Advise, coach and formulate correspondence, in conjunction with the HR Manager, in relation to performance management, discipline matters, attendance management, disability management etc.;
- Provide/conduct research assistance to HR Manager/Director on union/management inquires and grievances, and draft responses to same for management;
- Facilitate and mediate early workplace interventions measures/discussions between employees, supervisors, managers and/or union representatives in an attempt to resolve potential grievance matters;
- consults with managers and union representatives regarding a range of human resource and general labour relations matters;
- reviews leave/attendance reports, identifies trends, and identifies commencement dates of disability and extended leaves of absence and lay-off notices;
- identifies workplace human resource issues to management and the HR Manager by keeping a pulse on the work environment and recommends ways to create a positive, healthy and safe work environment;
- provides advice and assistance to managers/supervisors on a variety of human resource issues (eg; staffing, classification, benefits, procedures/processes, training and development, workplace investigations, occupational health & safety, leave management, etc.);
- promotes integration, a consistent approach, and teamwork to achieve common goals of the Division and Health PEI as a whole;
participates and represents Divisional interests on various committees (eg; End User Support Group, HR Coordinator Group, HR Staff Meetings, etc.);
- coordinates retirement and termination processes;
- provides leadership, guidance & support to Employee Service Assistants (ESA);
- liaises and advises PEI Public Service Commission on staffing/competition matters for the Division and participates

on Interview Selection Boards as necessary;
- other duties as required.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, or a related field;
- Considerable experience as a Human Resources Generalist, (eg. Human Resource administration, staffing and classification processes, collective agreement administration, payroll);
- Experience in workplace investigations, work site conflicts/complaints, harassment, job performance issues and conflict resolution;
- Experience in group facilitation/training and delivering training to groups/employees;
- Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered;
- Extensive computer skills in word processing, database management, spreadsheets, electronic mail, and presentation software;
- A comprehensive working knowledge and experience of a Human Resource Information System;
- Strong interpersonal skills including conflict diffusion and negotiation skills;
- Ability to work independently in a demanding role with diverse responsibilities;
- Strong verbal and written communication ability, and organizational skills;
- Ability to work well under pressure and within minimum supervision**;**
- Good previous work and attendance record.
- **Other Qualifications**:

- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is preferred;
- Demonstrated work experience in a unionized environment would be an asset;
- Supervisory experience would be an asset;
- Knowledge of the health system would be an asset.

**Salary Range**:$29.58 - $36.99 per hour (Level 16 - Excluded)

**Bi-Weekly Hours**:75.0 hours bi-weekly Monday - Friday / Days
