**How will you contribute?**

Are you passionate about championing women’s leadership, gender equality, indigenous rights, and climate action? Senator Coyle, a key figure in these movements, is looking for a dynamic person to join her team as Parliamentary Affairs Advisor.

As co-founder and co-chair of Senators for Climate Solutions, Senator Coyle is dedicated to driving meaningful change through legislative action. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Senator, conduct in-depth research, strategic analysis and provide invaluable support to advance her priorities.

Responsibilities include assisting the Senator in drafting impactful speeches, statements, briefing notes and reports and proactively ensuring that the Senator is well informed on pressing issues.

Additionally, you can represent the senator in meetings and build relationships with key stakeholders.

The general public, to staff one (1) indeterminate full-time position in the Office of the Honourable Senator Mary Coyle.

Please note that “indeterminate” refers to an employment contract with no specified end date.

**Prerequisites**
- University degree from a recognized university in political science, law, business, social and environmental science or any other field related to the duties of the position and/or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience;
- Extensive and recent experience in researching, analyzing and assessing a broad range of information and making recommendations;
- Extensive and recent experience in writing documents such as briefing notes, reports, statements and speeches;
- Experience in providing strategic advice to senior officials on a variety of politically sensitive issues;
- Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with senior officials and/or parliamentarians;
- Extensive experience in using the MS-Office suite;
- Knowledge of communication techniques, methods and practices and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
- Strategic and organized thinker with the ability to coordinate and multi-task to accomplish a variety of activities with tight timelines;
- Ability to work in both official languages (English and French) is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of parliamentary procedure is considered an asset, as is knowledge of strategic communications, including media and social media.
