**OVERVIEW**: Reporting to the South Regional Care Program Manager, the Case Manager will be responsible for providing intensive case support, quality assurance measures, service direction, and support for Foster Parents and children under the South program. In addition, the Case Manager/will develop and facilitate pre-service training and orientation for new Foster Parents in the South programs.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITES**:

- Conduct monthly case planning meetings in the foster homes with the assigned SECFS workers and other collaterals
- Licensing of Homes;
- Complete Annual reviews for each home
- Complete addendums for each home, as needed.
- Complete Foster Care Licensing Closures, as needed.
- Complete Home studies, as needed
- Complete background checks for the caregivers
- Maintain an accurate understanding of the services provided in each home and effectively communicate to the Program Manager and SECFS
- Collaborate with SECFS Workers in delivering care plans for each child and/or family, while remaining focused on child’s best interests
- Monitor and follow up with ongoing needs in the homes
- Collect and review monthly reports and incident reports for each home, watch for concerns or areas of improvement and keep Program Manager informed of any changes
- Share the incident reports and monthly reports with the assigned SECFS workers
- Complete detailed case notes for each home and print for review by Program Manager monthly
- Review program memos and directives with House Parents
- Attend meetings with children and House Parents as necessary (lawyer, court, doctor appointments, assessments)
- Communicate to Program Manager the observed training needs for House Parents, Support & Respite Workers, and find those training opportunities
- Ensure all Foster Home documentation requirements, including reporting, is completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure outcomes, assessments and service plans are current and up to date
- Other duties as assigned
- Regular travel is required for this position (Winnipeg and surrounding areas)

**Resource Duties**:

- Help plan and facilitate monthly foster parent meetings
- Assist with foster parent training and programming
- Conduct home study assessments, according to guidelines provided by the organization and placing agency
- Identify and make recommendations for additional training sessions for care providers and support staff in the homes
- Maintain effective communication with program staff and caregivers as required to maintain awareness of program needs

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- BSW degree or equivalent (similar education and experience working in the field will be considered)
- Knowledge in the areas of colonization and intergenerational trauma
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of the Child and Family Services (CFS) sector and legislation
- Good understanding of foster care standards and related licensing paper work
- Demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of Indigenous perspectives, First Nations culture and traditional philosophies
- Experience developing and supporting a strong, respectful team-based approach to service delivery
- Experience working with families and navigating complex situations
- Satisfactory Child Abuse, Criminal Record check (with Vulnerable Sector), and Prior Contact Check
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, word processing (MS Word), Spreadsheets (Excel), E-mail (Outlook) and Internet
- Excellent communication, organization, problem solving and team skills.
- Ability to speak Anishinaabe is an asset
