We are a microbrewery located on the Sarnia Bay waterfront in Sarnia, Ontario and have a brewery and full restaurant operation on site, including a large outdoor Biergarten space through the warm weather months. We proudly brew craft beer that focuses on the classics (especially in European beer styles) with an occasional twist and aim to offer something for everyone to enjoy. We believe strongly in operating in the spirit of Gemutlichkeit: the feeling of warmth and friendliness, and a sense of belonging and well being springing from social acceptance. We are a place where friends and family can come together to enjoy some great food, drink and entertainment year round.

You will be a great fit for this position if:

- You have a passion for quality food & drink and a love for the community

- You are an effective communicator and problem solver, with the soft skills needed to coach a diverse team of people with varying skill sets and experience levels
- You make data-driven decisions with strong forecasting skills
- You are a great multi-tasker and are comfortable taking the lead on tasks
- You are passionate about driving sales and finding creative revenue opportunities
- You must have or be able to obtain Smart Serve certification
- You have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

**Essential Skills**:

- 3+ years in a management position with proven leadership experience and excellence
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Google Docs and Sheets or Microsoft
Office (Word and Excel) is required; familiarity with basic graphic design programs (such as Canva) is a plus
- Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles, and analytical ability to relate financial reports to financial objectives such as controlling labor costs and COGs
- Experience building concepts and processes from the ground-up
- High competence in Ontario and federal labour laws

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervising every aspect of the microbrewery and front-of-house taproom and restaurant operations: this includes scheduling, day-to-day coaching and encouraging and soliciting feedback to ensure that everyone’s experience is a great one (this job does require a flexible day, evening and weekend availability with both opening and closing shift responsibilities)
- Collaborating with the leadership team on marketing and coordinating/executing events at the brewery as well as off-site when needed, such as local festivals and markets in which we may participate
- Work closely with event and leadership staff to ensure successful events and roll out promotions
- Ensuring the maintenance of brewery equipment and systems with a preventative maintenance plan and mindset
- Supervising, scheduling, and training of staff: including anticipating staffing needs and assisting in the recruiting and hiring process
- Ensuring the brewery and restaurant space is kept clean and standards met at all times, complying with local, provincial and federal regulations
- Educating guests on the microbrewery’s process, products and mission: being able to speak to our products with confidence and be a leader in telling the story behind what we do with customers and staff is key to our experience
- Managing inventory and production levels with the brewing team and maintaining/ensuring beer quality
- Coordinating beer movement throughout the facility: retail store and restaurant, kegs and cans, ensuring a system is in place to keep track of inventory and usage
- Enforcing occupational health and safety standards
- Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and vendors as the main point of contact
- Coordinating with accounting to complete weekly and monthly inventory counts for budget and monthly tax return procedures.
