**Balcan Innovations** is a leading North American manufacturer of technical films, flexible packaging, and reflective insulation with five brands at its core: Balcan Packaging, Plastixx FFS Technologies, NELMAR Security Packaging Systems, rFoil, and Reflectix.

We are looking for a **Quality Assurance Specialist** with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar field to join our team. The quality supervisor will be responsible for the below tasks but not limited to the following:
**JOB SUMMARY**
- Quality assurance (50% of time)
- Manage non-conforming materials segregation and manage material release from QC hold
- Maintain and continually improve the Quality Management System for all departments of the plant.
- Lead non-conforming product quality problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Conduct investigations of customer complaints with the owners of the various processes aimed at implementing corrective actions and ensuring their follow-up and effectiveness.
- Need to have good command of problem-solving tools and RCA to ensure that causes are properly identified and corrective actions are implemented to prevent reoccurrence.
- Work with product development work stream on defining product specifications and material release requirements.
- Maintain and improve the inspection and material release processes for incoming coming raw materials and outgoing (finished goods including WIP).
- Communicate NCPR status and Cost of quality reduction goals and any corrective actions to management and production floor
- Compliance and Quality System (50% of time)
- Promote, develop, and oversee compliance of the company quality system in the plant and highlight opportunities for improvements. (GMP, HACCP Program and GFSI when applicable)
- Acting as a liaison between the quality, technical, engineering and production departments by effectively communicating and enforcing best practices, new policies and procedures to ensure that the quality of our products is consistent and meets our customer’s expectations.
- Developing and defining new methods to measure and control Critical to quality process parameters.
- Schedule and coordinate internal audits by ensuring all areas are inspected, non-conformities are identified, communicated, and ensure corrective measures are implemented in a timely manner.
- Prepare & lead all quality audits for certification and recertification and all customer or third-party audits and inspections.
- Ensure policies and procedures, and documentation control processes for pre-operations, production operations and post-operation activities.
- Developing and Monitoring KPI’s for CAR’s completion and effectiveness
- Lead, coach and assist all departments in understanding, and maintaining Food Safety system requirements.
- Participate in suppliers’ approval process.

**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- College degree (mechanical, polymer or Industrial Preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing with supervisory experience
- 3-5 years’ statistics, Six Sigma or other RC analysis experience preferred
- 5-10 years of manufacturing experience (PE film processing preferred)
- Advanced level computer skills
